Logging In to Your Site

All access to your website beyond a regular site user begins with logging in to the system. All procedures to work on your site beyond this assume you are logged in.

Prior to site launch

When you are working on your site prior to publishing it, it will have a temporary URL. Businesses usually take the form of businessname.(partnerdomain).com. So if

your business is Sweet Sheets, you would type sweetsheets.partnername.com/admin in the address bar. Notice that you do not type “www.” in the address.

When the site is live

Once your site is live, you type the actual site name, followed by “/admin”, such as www.sweetsheets.com/admin. The temporary URL will no longer work.

Enter your username and password

In either case, this will take you to the login screen that looks similar to this. Fill in your user name and password, then press Enter or click Login. Note that the password is case sensitive. Assuming you entered your information correctly, you are now logged in. If not, it will remain on the login screen to let you try again.

Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble logging in, try the following:
  1. Make sure Caps Lock isn’t on.
  2. Make sure the site name you are entering is correct. If you have published your site, the temporary “businessname.smartzsites.com” won’t work anymore; you will need to use your actual site name.
  3. Make sure you aren’t already logged in. If you see “Admin” as one of the menu choices or “Edit Content” at the bottom of a page, you are already logged in.
  4. Try clearing your cookies.
    1. Go to a web site other than your own.
    2. In Internet Explorer 7
      1. Click Tools > Delete Browsing History
      2. Click Delete Cookies
      3. Click Yes
      4. Click Close
    3. In FireFox 3
      1. Click Tools > Clear Private Data
      2. Check the Cookies checkbox and clear all other checkboxes
      3. Click Clear Private Data Now
    4. Close the browser, the reopen it and try logging in again.
Call Pixelsilk and ask for customer service if none of these methods are successful.
