Perhaps the number one thing you can do to increase the search engine visibility of your site is to ensure that every page has a unique title, and has the description and keywords meta fields populated (preferably with unique content as well).
Pixelsilk makes this extremely easy to accomplish. For any page (or section) in the system, you have the ability to enter custom data in each of the corresponding fields; in ‘Pages’ simply click the pencil icon for the page you are editing, and you will be presented with the screen as shown in Example 1.1 below.
The 'Page Title' field contains the information that will appear in the <title> field of the page’s HTML. This is the title that appears at the top of your browser window, and is the title that is visible in search engine results pages (SERPs). For optimum SEO purposes, this should be a unique value for each and every page.
The ‘Description’ field contains the information that will appear in the ‘description’ meta tag of the HTML. Typically this information will appear as a page summary on SERPs, and best practices dictate that this be unique for every page as well.
The ‘Keywords’ field contains the information that will appear in the ‘keywords’ meta tag of the HTML. Best practices dictate that the list of keywords should be unique for each page, and ideally be comma-separated with each word capitalized.
