One of the upstream providers from our server facility (Hurricane Electrict) has been combating a large DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack since early this morning. The attack has once again managed to circumvent the facility's mitigation processes and may be causing intermittent connectivity issues to sites hosted at that facility. The provider is aware of the situation and has disabled their uplink to the HE network until they are able to come to a permanent resolution.

We have been noticing brief outages intermittently this morning with sites hosted at one of our server facilities. We have been in contact with the provider and they are already troubleshooting the problem, which has been revealed to be an undetermined issue with the peering between the facility and one of their upstream providers. The facility has removed the link with that provider until the root cause can be determined and resolved.

Network Solutions is currently experiencing an outage. We have been unable to ascertain any specific information regarding the cause or the severity of this outage, but we do know that at least some of their DNS servers are not responding to requests. This may cause problems for any clients who host their DNS solely with Network Solutions.

At approximately 7:25 AM PST we were notified by our monitoring system that one of our upstream Internet Service Provider was experiencing Internet connectivity issues. We immediately communicated our findings to the ISP, although they were already on task to resolve the issue. They discovered that all of their upstream providers on their service distribution routers had dropped. They initiated a reboot of the affected router and services were restored at approximately 7:45 AM PST. Analysis determined that a bug in the current software loaded on the router was the cause of the problem and they are working with the vendor to resolve the issue. At this time they anticipate an updated early next week to patch the software.

As you are aware there was a service interruption to day with one or more of your hosted services. The issue was caused by a faulty circuit breaker at the hosting facility where your services are housed. The incident caused power loss to critical switches and servers that controlled access to your webistes and other related services. We were notified by automated monitoring services of the issue and began working immediately with the hosting facility to resolve the issue. The source of the power interruption was found and the appropriate power was rerouted. We are working with the hosting facility to provide a better fault tolerant system to avoid this type of service interruption in the future.
